Target and other stores must now sell toys for kids on a “gender neutral” basis. No more boys and girl’s toys. How silly. Think this will stop parents and aunts and grandparents from buying boys toys for boys and girls toys for girls? This is meant to make it more expensive for stores to use expensive marketing areas in a divisive way. The good news is that this will send more people to buy toys via the Internet—hence the toys will sell, and we will save the Earth from parents killing the Earth by driving to WalMart, Target and other retail stores.
While rich Eber wrote this as satire—it is also reality. Now even toys are target of the mentally ill in government.
“Now things are different. In California, Woke social values demand children’s toy departments be divided between girls, boys, and gender neutral. The first of the year, Assembly Bill 1084 – Gender Neutral Toy Aisles took effect
Major retailers or companies of 500 or more employees, must now have a gender-neutral section for children 12 and under.
Section 1, Part 2.57, subsection (a) of the bill’s text it states, “Unjustified differences in similar products that are traditionally marketed either for girls or for boys can be more easily identified by the consumer if similar items are displayed closer to one another in one, undivided area of the retail sales floor.”
Companies that fail to maintain a gender-neutral toy aisle face a civil penalty of $250 for the first offense and $500 for each subsequent violation.
Next up is a quota. Government will determine the number of customers for each gender (California recognizes 82 different genders). So when the quota is reached for boys toys, NO more can be sold until the “Unigender” section has an equal amount of buyers. Great way to force people to buy via the Internet—in other States.
Gender neutral by Richard Eber

When I was a kid Footballs, baseball gloves, coonskin hats, and G.I. Joe toys, normally came on visits from Santa Claus. My sister was the recipient of Barbie Dolls, bake sets, princess outfits, and junior cosmetics on the same occasion.
No one objected to such designations. “Cross Dress for Less” clothing stores did not exist back then.
Now things are different. In California, Woke social values demand children’s toy departments be divided between girls, boys, and gender neutral. The first of the year, Assembly Bill 1084 – Gender Neutral Toy Aisles took effect

Entering the toy section of Target on January 2nd, it was business as usual. For the under 12 year female set, blue packaging was utilized in most cases. Dolls along with Homemaker items from tea sets to child care toys were on display.
Super Hero Action heroes have replaced Cowboys-Indians and military play sets for boys. Naturally a large selection of cars, trucks, and heavy equipment could be found with them in mind.
What might be considered Gender Neutral were filled with games, puzzles, and art kits for all.
At first glance, AB-1084 looks like a farce. It appears to be a law crafted by Limousine Liberals to placate their cancel culture constituents. On another level, this legislation looks like a blatant attempt of government censorship. This intended to reinforce Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) standards that are part of public school curriculum.
Walking down the toy isles of Target, I wondered what might be in store for the Gender-Neutral sections of the future?
Is it possible that Dolls might be the break thru item? Can Chatty Cathy come up with new material? Instead of uttering the words “change my diapers “we might have her say “my jock strap is too tight”.
Tomorrow’s Barbie and Ken might reflect woke DEI standards. As a kid I thought Ken was gay because he was dressed so well. Later on, I figured Barbie’s male companion was a client of the Men’s Warehouse. Ken’s shoes, belt, trousers and shirt always matched. This was in stark contrast to my ”last resort causal” look.
Perhaps, we can look forward to Barbie having a “Butch” friend who likes to operate big rigs and tractors. The pair might have an adversary “Freaky Fred” who comes in a combo pack with designer raincoats from Burberry, L.L.Bean, and Kirkland.
Disney might put out a special toddler category that includes Rapunzel and the Little Mermaid going both ways. The Princess and the Pea could be redone to allow the kiss that breaks the spell to emanate from a Prince, Princess, or none of the above.
The Magic Kingdom’s marketing department is likely excited by all the revenue to be generated from such diverse clothing options.
For educational current events we can expect a Rachel Maddow and antisemitic Dr. Claudine Gay doll that plagiarizes the words of her friend Karine Jean-Pierre. None of these dolls smile. Cancel Culture does not allow serious women to have fun.
Will it be mandatory for Lincoln Logs to have a model with 3 rest rooms for their designer doll houses? If this proves popular, we can expect LEGO to provide similar options?
What will be interesting is how the first offense fine of $ 250.00, and the second of $ 500.00 are to be implemented.
While it is up to the legal departments of City, County, and the State Attorney General to enforce AB-1084, what criteria will be used to judge compliance? Can we trust the government to compile fair guidelines for retail outlets to follow?
Will there be a Committee or Trans-Toy Czar to determine what is appropriate? Might conservative values be incorporated in this new position?
If it is determined that the law has been broken, are police officers qualified to issue citations? If this is a problem, can George Soros or taxpayers be counted on to supply law enforcement officers with appropriate sensitivity training?
In any case police and Mall Cops should have extra time to deal with gender neutral toy section violations. It is a well-known fact most D.A.’s no longer prosecutes shoplifting crime.
Will these champions of social justice insist:
- Miniature Toy solar powered shopping carts with a recycling bin and a cell phone holder will be required to take away the stigma for being Homeless.
- No more one size fits all costumes. Short, obese, and anorexic kids can’t fit into this category. This will be a classic example of no child left ahead or behind.
- Publishing an official cancel culture comic history book that omits objectional behavior of notable historic figures. Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and other fair skinned personages will disappear.
In all AB-1084 is absurd and ridiculous. It is a prime example of government overreach personified in California.
It might be asked how a State which is presently 68 billion dollars in debt, allow itself to be involved with such a sideshow law? Is this what we want our legislators in Sacramento to do in protecting the lives of their constituents?
How does government nowadays get away with telling private businesses what to do? Reminding private businesses that they must comply with laws and regulations that apply to everybody, OK. But, it is a wonder businesses don’t sue all the way to the Supreme Court over gender neutral isles and other encroachments into the private sector. And, by the way, I never shop in Boys or Girls isles. My daughter liked to play with dinosaurs and transformers, as well as with Barbies.
