So, it not surprising the those behind the LA version of the train scam are promising a later date for completion—and add $400 million to the cost. They lied—it will be much longer than, maybe 2028 in time for the Olympics—and upwards of one billion MORE to finish the job.

After rising costs and numerous delays, however, the project is reportedly still almost a year and a half from opening and will cost an additional $400 million, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

This most recent delay isn’t the first time Angelenos and visitors have been told they’ll have to wait a while longer. In January, a bond agency estimated an opening date in April 2025.
In addition to the latest delay, the price increase brings the total over the $3 billion mark.
The additional $400 million, if approved by the LAWA board on Thursday, will bring the total price tag to $3.34 billion, the Times reports.
The project itself is about 95% complete, but the additional funds will help settle past claims over the project’s delay, the Times adds.
Automated people mover will encourage obesity. All the people who work at the air port will stop walking and start gliding. Encouraged obesity make for one great law suit!
