Folks held rallies around the State in defense of “science”. Is this the science that lied to us about COVID, diapers on the face, social distancing and a vaccine that was not tested—that science? Or the “science” that claims everything from fire, to bad breath is caused by climate change—with folks like Stacey Abrams, with the help of Joe Biden, ripping us off of $2 billion?
Is this the science that prefers people stay in poverty rather than have electricity? Fauci said “believe in the science”, except he claimed science to kill one million people—the greatest serial killer in history.
This rallying group is really up for the Federal grants and loans—it is not about science. This is a gigantic scam—and the media of course is promoting it. The good news is that Trump/DOGE do not care—they will cut all corrupt payoffs, worthless programs and even indict the fraudsters involved. The other part is to fire those that signed off on the billons of dollars of payoffs.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Demonstrators converged at the Capitol in Sacramento on Friday as part of a nationwide day of action to “Stand Up for Science” and in opposition to early actions from President Donald Trump’s administration.
Protest organizers listed policy goals online that include ending censorship and political interference in science, expanding funding for science, reinstating thousands of scientists and administrators at federal agencies who have been recently fired, and defending diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in science.
About 700 people RSVP’d for the event and by 12:30 p.m., hundreds were in attendance.
Protest organizer Theanne Griffith, an assistant professor at UC Davis, said the Sacramento event was one of at least 153 rallies in the U.S. and in parts of Europe.
“We’re standing up for science. We are resisting and upset with a lot of the federal executive orders that have challenged our ability to do science by attempting to slash federal funding of science,” she said.
She said she was also against the government “telling us what we can and cannot study.”
“Science is important for finding cures,” she said. “Science is important for feeding people. If we want to protect our plants and our crops from pathogens, we need to study those pathogens, those diseases that can decimate corn fields.”
That includes studying rare diseases, and not just “profitable” diseases, she said.
Thousands of federal employees have been fired as part of the Trump administration’s effort to shrink the size of government.
Earlier this week, a federal judge blocked the Trump administration from capping “indirect costs” for National Institutes of Health funding for biomedical research to 15%.
This type of funding covers infrastructure costs like facilities, maintenance and security. The office of the University of California president said the proposed action would “gut UC funding by hundreds of millions” each year.
“Those research dollars that come from NIH don’t just pay scientists to do science. They also fund plumbers to fix our pipes,” Griffith said. “They fund electricians to fix our buildings and take care of the infrastructure that we have. There are so many jobs created by university systems that I’m really nervous that these kind of cuts are going to decimate our local economy the same way the rust belt and mining towns in West Virginia were decimated when those industries left.”
Friday’s event was set to feature 20 speakers through 4 p.m.
Similar March for Science events also took place during President Trump’s first term in office.
