Heard on the Tom/Toms

DOES THE CONSTITUTION OR BY-LAWS MEAN ANYTHING? DEMOCRATS SAY NO—REPUBLICANS IN CALIFORNIA SAY NO
Years ago, President Barack Obama continued to sign illegal, unconstitutional Executive Orders. And he knew it, but did not care. He famously said, “if you don’t like it, sue.” Barack knew it would take years for the lawsuit to get through the courts—and millions of dollars. The Constitution was dead.
Biden as President (or whoever was the real President) refused to enforce and obey our immigration laws. He allowed ten million illegal aliens into our nation, with vetting, any process, NO vaccines, no health information. Now that Trump is President the same Democrats are demanding total due process for the ten million. Even those already order deportation orders by courts.
Laws, the Constitution and By-laws have meaning. They are used to know what the rules are, what you are allowed to do and what you can not do. The Democrats do not care—they say SUE. Now, they are the ones suing after they find a Judge that does not believe in their oath of office.
In California we have a similar problem. I will not make a judgement, just give the facts—you can decide if we are operating like Democrats.
The California Republican Party has approved by-laws. All 1500+ members are supposed to abide by them. An important one is that dealing with the composition of the Board of Directors.
“Section 2.05 BOARD OF DIRECTORS Section 2.05.01 Composition The Board of Directors of the Committee, herein called the “Board”, shall consist of the following: The elected officers of the committee; the Immediate Past Chairman of the Committee; the Republican National Committeeman and National Committeewoman; the Finance Chairman of the Committee or the designee of that person; the Chairman of the Budget Committee; the President of the County Chairmen’s Association; the highest ranking Republican statewide partisan officeholder, in the order listed in subsection 2.01.01(A)(1) of the bylaws, or the designee of that officeholder. If that person is a US Senator or a Member of the Board of Equalization, the senior Senator or the senior Member of the Board of Equalization shall be the Member of the Board; the Republican Leader duly elected by the Republican Caucus of the State Senate (hereinafter “Senate Leader”) or a designee named by the Senate Leader; the Republican Leader duly elected by the Republican Caucus of the State Assembly (hereinafter “Assembly Leader”) or a designee named by the Assembly Leader; the leader elected by the California Republican Congressional Delegation or a member of the delegation designated by the delegation; and the Chairman or designee of the Chairman of the Team California Committee, or any successor major donor organization.”
The Chairman of Team Cal is Thomas McKernan. He is the former CEO of AAA.
After the recent CRP convention ended, the Board held its first meeting, within an hour of adjournment of the convention. This is normal, been doing this for many years.
At that meeting McKernan tried to discuss the use of the money raised by Team Cal. Instead, he was ruled out of order and the newly elected Chair, Corrin Rankin nominated Kevin Faulconer as Team Cal Chair. She did that even though she was notified by a audience member and had read to her the by-law section (above) which is clear. The representative of Team Cal on the CRP Board is either the Team Cal Chair or their designee.
This is about money, big money (more about that in the future.). To control the money Rankin needed her own Team Cal Chair, regardless of the by-laws. It should be noted that neither the General Counsel or the Parliamentarian reminded the Chair of the By-Law provision.
Now the question is being discussed—if Faulconer votes on anything, is the vote and results null and void? Should we just forget about this—or state the by-laws need to be followed, by everyone?

(Periodically the California Political News and Views will publish tidbits of political news, to keep you in the loop of what the pooh bahs know. The phrase “tom/tom’s” comes from my mentor, Lorelei Kinder who never passed a rumor, just called to tell me what she heard on the “TomTom’s”. This column is named in her honor.)
Once again, proof that, if not for double standards, the Left would have NO standards.
This state is lost, and I do not see it improving. Republicans think they have a chance with either Steve Hilton or Chad Biano. To that I say ROFL! California will have a Democrat governor elected in 2026. Whichever Democrat wins the primary, will be elected.
