Bill would require Cal State to publish expenses greater than $10,000

I have a crazy question.  Under current law Cal State must make public any expense over $50,000.  This proposal lowers that to $10,000.  Why not make ALL expenses public?  What are they hiding?

“CSU currently publishes a list of purchase orders and contracts of $50,000 or more across the system over the course of the past five years. Gov. Gavin Newsom last legislative session vetoed a similar bill, AB 2447, which proposed CSU maintain a fiscal transparency website for expenditures exceeding $25,000. In his veto statement, the governor said the measure “would place additional cost pressures on the CSU budget at a time when the system is preparing to implement ongoing state appropriations reductions.”

Would Musk have time to audit the corrupt Cal State system?

A bill introduced in the California state Assembly would require California State University to post information about expenditures that exceed $10,000 on its website starting in July 2027.

The California State University Transparency Act of 2025 was introduced by Assemblymember Gregg Hart, a Santa Barbara Democrat, on Feb. 11.
