Hollywood hates two things—America/freedom and paying taxes—while demanding the rest of us pay higher taxes. Here are a couple of examples of the hypocrisy of celebrities.
“This is one Hollywood list celebrities don’t want their name on: The State of California Franchise Tax Board’s Top 500 delinquent taxpayers.
Bad girl rocker Courtney Love made this June’s biannual naughty list, allegedly owing $357,260.94 to the government.
Uncle Sam has had his eye on the musician and “The People vs Larry Flynt” star for a while.
In 2018, she was slapped with a lien from the IRS for $568,674.62, after she failed to pay her taxes in 2016, according to The Blast.
Also making the list is “Empire” star Terrence Howard, who owes $295,850.84.”

This is one Hollywood list celebrities don’t want their name on: The State of California Franchise Tax Board’s Top 500 delinquent taxpayers.
Also making the list is “Empire” star Terrence Howard, who owes $295,850.84.
His money problems also aren’t new. In 2019, he was reportedly under investigation for criminal tax evasion. Howard has also been hit with tax liens three times over the previous years, owing $600,000 in 2006, $1.1 million in 2010 and $140,000 in 2019 for taxes owed in 2010. According to a report, the 2006 and 2010 liens appear to be paid.
Action star Steven Seagal also has some issues he can’t seemingly punch his way out of. The pro-Putin “Under Siege” actor — who is also a Russian citizen — owes $216,361.19.
In 2020 Seagal agreed to pay $314,000 in disgorgement and penalties in a settlement to the SEC for “unlawfully touting” a cryptocurrency investment. Earlier this year he put his Arizona home, made up almost entirely of bulletproof glass, up for sale for $3.395 million.
Last, but of course not least, is an IRS favorite, Michael Madsen. The “Hateful Eight” and “Kill Bill” star apparently owes $509,029.92.
Madsen has had a messy financial past: He previously declared bankruptcy in 2009, with court docs reportedly showing he owed director Quentin Tarantino $1 million, and James Bond star Pierce Brosnan $25,000.
In 2013, he paid off $640,000 that he owed to the IRS.
