Democrats Support Phony Credit Reports—Lead by Dem AG Bonta

If you give credit to a customer for a car, home, major appliances, computers, you look at that persons’ credit scores—and you expect them to be accurate.

Now, Democrat/Socialist Attorney General Rob Bonta literally is demanding fraud on credit reports.

Senate Bill 1061 , introduced by Santa Barbara Democrat Monique Limón , prohibits credit reporting agencies from including medical debt in reports used by landlords, insurance companies and even some employers.

“There is no need for medical debt to appear on credit reports and we can stop the harmful spiral where people have unforeseen, catastrophic medical debt and become unhoused, unemployed, or without a vehicle

But people still have to pay their medical bills—like their mortgage, credit cards and car loans.  So if you take a major debt off the record, it will look like folks are able to pay off the new debt—when in the real world they can’t.

This is a massive corruption of the system.  If allowed watch as the cost of credit goes up to pay for those who “legally” do not have to report debt.  Another step in the doom loop of California.
