Eber: Fundraising Follies

I hate political fund raising.  It is needed, if you want to win.  But the way it is done is demeaning, misleading and too expensive to raise a dollar.

“But will the Mission Impossible tasks of internet fund raisers cease when the excitement of the election cools down?  Of course not.

The Leftist  supporters of Kamala Harris still don’t accept the results rendered by the American people on November 5th.  They believe the GOP victory was a typo. If a pile of donkey excrement is flung at the wall, they hope an election redo can be realized.

After the pardon of Hunter Biden, to think these wack jobs kept repeating during the campaign Donald Trump was a threat to the future of American Democracy.

It remains to be seen if the likes of New York Attorney Letitia James and panelists on The View can successfully continue  advocacy of law fare against Trump.

Yet, money is still being raised by Kamala, in spite of her loss and $2 billion raised.  OI hate the beg letters saying if you donate, someone will give three, five or ten times the amount.  Anybody check to see if this is true?  Personally, it is just a way to make people feel they are giving more money—but aren’t.  When I give, I give directly to the candidate, in that way I know where the money is going, without a commission taking middle person.

Fundraising follies by Richard Eber

Richard Eber, Exclusive to the California Political News and Views,  12/4/24  www.capoliticalnewsandviews.com

The corpse of the Democratic Party devastating defeat was not yet cold before fund raising ensued to raise money for the failed Blue cause.

My wife received an urgent text message November 8th.  It read:

Jan, 6 Committee Member Liz Cheney called Trump a threat to democracy.

DO You  AGREE with Liz Cheney?

  • Yes!
  • No

IF YOU MADE IT THIS FAR: PLEASE KEEP READING

We’re heartbroken: Donald Trump won the election. But we’re still laser-focused on our mission: mobilizing to STOP Trump’s Project 2025 from happening.

This fight is going to take every single one of us.  We NEED your help. But if we don’t get (12) more donations from your state in the next hour, we won’t have the funds necessary.

That would mean we’re left defenseless to Trump’s attacks – we can’t let this happen. Please, can you chip  in just $9 to Stop Project 2025 immediately?

The assumption of demagogues impersonating journalists working for the likes of The  New York, Los Angeles Times, and the Atlantic is that Donald Trump is intending  on being another Hitler in his second term. The Progressive 5th Estate  is so brainwashed that they believe America may have had their last election

There were a few things wrong with this hair brained notion:

1. Liz Chaney is hardly a credible representative of the Republican Party after being booted out of office and her performance on partisan the January 6th committee.

2. Lame duck Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer lacks the support from  fellow Democrats let alone Republicans to pass such virtually any legislation.

3. Even if passage from the Senate with GOP cooperation could be done, it would have zero chance to be favorably considered in the House.

4. Any bill that limits the power of the Executive Branch as stipulated in the Constitution could not pass scrutiny from the Supreme Court.

A legitimate so called fact check even from MSNBC or CNN would reveal the same conclusions. No circumstances other than an armed rebellion on God’s green earth could allow for their fund raising aspirations  to come true.

This is saying a lot because these are the political guru’s gave their blessing to a futile effort led by Hillary Clinton to have the Electoral College abolished.  Those who favor a popular vote to determine who will occupy the White House must have missed the fact that changing the Constitution’s rules requires two thirds concurrence of the fifty States

Given these facts it is impossible for Chuck Schumer to do little more than ponder fitting his furniture into a smaller office space he will soon occupy.

But will the Mission Impossible tasks of internet fund raisers cease when the excitement of the election cools down?  Of course not.

The Leftist  supporters of Kamala Harris still don’t accept the results rendered by the American people on November 5th.  They believe the GOP victory was a typo. If a pile of donkey excrement is flung at the wall, they hope an election redo can be realized.

After the pardon of Hunter Biden, to think these wack jobs kept repeating during the campaign Donald Trump was a threat to the future of American Democracy.

It remains to be seen if the likes of New York Attorney Letitia James and panelists on The View can successfully continue  advocacy of law fare against Trump.

Even  Special Council Jack Smith, who headed the ill fated  efforts of the Justice Department to prosecute Trump, has given up the ghost to continue such actions.

For now, the war is over.  Democrats will need favorable results in the 2026 mid-term elections to push forward with any future impeachment fantasies against Trump.

Does this mean fund raising  efforts will cease to be undertaken on the internet to attack the yet to be inaugurated 47th President?

Of course not.  Fortunately, the first amendment Progressives wish to scrap, guarantees freedom of speech.  Undoubtably, it will be fundraising as usual,  As P.T. Barnum  once quipped, “A sucker is born every minute.”

This does not mean the system is perfect? Emphatically no!

Hopefully, the new Congress should take on the issue of campaign reform.  Political Action Committees (PACS), be them sloped to the right or left. They desperately need to be changed.

The rules of fair play should not allow the likes of George Sorus or the Koch Brothers to interfere with election results in locales where they don’t reside. Manipulating down ballot DA and local races should be restricted in the interests of fairness.

In a similar vein PACs yield far too much influence in determining winners and losers.  The practice of both Democrats and Republicans in raising money from constituents for third party uses, needs to end.  The same goes for special interest groups such as labor Unions and Corporations pouring unlimited amounts into partisan races

Such change has to be done in Congress.  Courts are not the place where election reform should take place.

In meantime, internet scam efforts will continue unabated.
