Fresno Co. voter roll boasts nearly 80,000 inactive voters. Why?

Why is there a roll of inactive voters?  If you want corruption, this is how you do it.  You find a name on this secret voter role, ask for an absentee ballot, then vote it—no one will know.  Honest elections, not in Fresno or any County in California.

  • “Kus also pushed back against the post, saying inactive voters are neither “illegal” nor “ineligible,” saying they are instead in a state where they need to either re-register or verify their registration in-person.
  • “That so few voters take advantage of that opportunity to participate is probably a good indicator that most Inactive voters have moved away from Fresno County without updating their registration, as is their civic responsibility,” Kus said.

Can you get a copy of the “inactive” list?  Can you ask if people on the list voted by absentee?  This is part of a very corrupt system.

Fresno County has nearly 80,000 people listed in its inactive voter registration file, according to public records released on Monday. https://sjvsun.com/news/fresno/fresno-co-voter-roll-boasts-nearly-80000-inactive-voters-why/The sizable While people on the list have the ability to return to active registration status, only a small amount did so last year.

The big picture: A post on X over the weekend showed data provided by the Fresno County elections office detailing the number of inactive voters.

By the number: Fresno County has 525,980 active registered voters, as of March 11.

  • Along with those voters, the county’s inactive file includes 79,174 people, with nearly 14,000 people added to the file in the last year.
  • More than 56,000 inactive registered voters did not have any voting-related activity for two consecutive federal elections.

Why it matters: County election officials conduct voter list maintenance to maintain accurate voter rolls that are up-to-date, with certain state and federal laws that determine if a voter should be removed from the rolls.

  • According to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, maintaining accurate voter rolls enfranchises voters by decreasing the number of provisional ballots, in part.
  • Election officials can remove voters from their lists if they have not voted in two consecutive federal general elections and failed to respond to a confirmation notice, under the National Voter Registration Act.

What he’s saying: “Inactive status can be viewed as a quarantine state – where the voter is isolated from the election system but has rights to return once they have ‘cured’ the issue with their registration record,” Kus said.

  • He added that all voters on the inactive list are part of the county’s ongoing registration list maintenance activities.
  • Kus also pushed back against the post, saying inactive voters are neither “illegal” nor “ineligible,” saying they are instead in a state where they need to either re-register or verify their registration in-person.
  • “That so few voters take advantage of that opportunity to participate is probably a good indicator that most Inactive voters have moved away from Fresno County without updating their registration, as is their civic responsibility,” Kus said.
