REFORM CALIFORNIA HAS REAL VOTER ID BALLOT MEASURE APPROVED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE—NO ONE ELSE
On May 15 the California Republican party sent this email request to sign their petition on Voter ID. But this petition does not get a voter ID measure on the ballot. Only the Reform California petition, approved by the Secretary of the State does that:

Stephen, this new poll uncovered something GROUNDBREAKING! Read the headline here: New Poll Finds Majority of Californians Want Proof of Citizenship Requirement When Registering to Vote This is AMAZING! 71% of Californians support showing proof of citizenship. But time and time again, California Democrats have done EVERYTHING in their power to block things like voter ID and citizenship verification from becoming reality. So, we’re looking to gather an ENORMOUS number of signatures before midnight tonight. Please, before midnight: will you sign our petition showing that YOU, the voter, support proof of citizenship for voting? SIGN THE PETITION We need enough signatures to make this TOO BIG TO IGNORE! We need as many signatures from 93065 as we can get! Thank you for your quick response, CAGOP |
On May 14 they sent this email, begging for you to sign the CRP petition for voter ID BEFORE MIDNIGHT. Of course this is not a legal petition, only Reform California has the REAL VOTER ID petition, approved by the Secretary of State. Sign the CRP petition, it goes no where, sign he Reform California petition, it goes on the ballot.
Why is the CRP spending so much time and money trying to be virtuous, instead of spending time and money on being victorious?
They are also raising money from this, to go to the overhead of the CRP—since there is NO line item in the budget to support the Reform California LEGAL petition. There is no part of the Political Plan to support the REAL Voter ID measure. In fact, the Board has NOT endorsed the Reform California measure, nor asked the CRP delegates to support it.
But by making people believe they are supporting the real effort, it makes it harder for the Reform California effort to get signatures (“well, I already ‘signed’ the petition).
The answer is easy. The Board endorses the Real petition. Then the Board authorizes spending one million dollars on gathering the signatures and the campaign to pass the measure. They can do this, if they are serious about honest elections. What do you think?
Stephen, you’ll never guess what 93% of Californians agree on… When asked the question: would it be easy or difficult for voters to present a government-issued photo ID when voting? 93% of Californians said it would be EASY to show voter ID. So, we have to ask, WHY are Democrats so dead set on blocking things like voter ID or citizenship verification. Stephen, EVERY California House Democrat voted against a bill that would ensure non-citizens can’t vote. We have show – BEYOND A DOUBT – that voters like you, support proof of citizenship for voting. We need a RECORD-NUMBER of signatures from 93065 before midnight. PLEASE, don’t delay. >> SIGN THE PETITION Thank you for standing with us, CAGOP Problems viewing this email? (Periodically the California Political News and Views will publish tidbits of political news, to keep you in the loop of what the pooh bahs know. The phrase “tom/tom’s” comes from my mentor, Lorelei Kinder who never passed a rumor, just called to tell me what she heard on the “TomTom’s”. This column is named in her honor.)
What’s even more sad is that these data dives never update GOP records. Anyone working a campaign are amazed how old the data is. These are just an attempt to raise money.
