NEED AN ACTIVE REPUBLICAN PARTY IN LOS ANGELES

Saturday saw Assemblyman Carl DeMaio hold three rallies in California.  Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.  Between the three of them, according to the Assemblyman, he trained 1500 people to create a signature drive to get VOTER ID on the 2026 ballot.  These were rallies in support of the measure and training sessions for volunteers.  The L.A. event had about 200 people.  OC and San Diego, between them, had 1300.

The Los Angeles event was sponsored by the LAGOP.  It was a “Townhall”.  That was a super idea, to bring in volunteers and activists to the cause.

On the other hand, the LAGOP has not had a business meeting since it was organized in January.

When Tim O’Reilly was LAGOP Chair, he held fairly regular business meetings.  But, his would not allow Republican’s who were not Central Committee to attend—he had meetings, presented a budget, had a political plan, resolutions, by-law changes—the regular workings of a Central Committee.  The new Chair does not hold any business meetings.

Now, O’Reillys home has a “In Escrow” sign on it.  He is moving to the Carolina’s—going to a free State.

His replacement, does not hold meetings, she believes in local committees and activists.  Good thoughts.  But we are less than a year from the June, 2026 election.  Yet, legally they cannot spend a dime—no budget has been presented or approved.  She has Committee’s, but the LAGOP members do not know what the Committees are doing or are able to provide assistance, since there are no LAGOP membership meetings.  What is the Political Plan?  No ones knows, nor has the LAGOP approved of one.

Literally, the largest County GOP in the nation, based on voter registration, has only one person, without debate, discussion or full Committee approval is operating the process.

So, we are seeing a few Assembly District committees creating their own budgets and political plan, with communication or coordination with the LAGOP.  Most of the AD’s committees in L.A. County are doing nothing, just meeting.  Their role model?  The LAGOP.

We need to bring to life the LAGOP.
