- STEVE GARVEY FOR U.S. SENATE AS A REPUBLICAN
Do not be shocked by this headline—it is real.
The people who gave us Arnold Schwarzenegger—who refused to answer questions as to his position on issues (because he was really a Democrat, Meg Whitman in 2010 for Guv—then in 2016 she made public what we all knew-she was National Finance Co-Chair for Hillary Clinton. In 2014 the GOP leadership, led by Jessica Patterson gave us Neal Kashkari for GUV—though he was an Obama donor and supporter (when he lost, Obama appointed him to the Federal Reserve). In 2022 the GOP leadership gave us Nathan Hochman for Attorney General—he is now an NPP and denounces the GOP like a Democrat.
Now the GOP leadership with its support of Republicans who hate the Republican Party has come up with a candidate for Senate, former L.A. Dodger player—and current Dodger employee, Steve Garvey.
Where does he stand on the Ukraine, Second Amendment, the climate scam, taxes, school choice, etc. No one knows. Why? Because in his 75 years, yes he is 75 Years old, he has never taken a stand on political issues or policy. Tonight he is the headliner at a fund raiser for Congresswoman Michelle Steele. You can ask him about his views and why he is running. Oh, a friend of mine spoke to Garvey twice last week, confirming that Garvey is planning to run for the Senate.
Who is leading the battle to bring us another Arnold, Meg, Neal, Nathan? National Committeeman Shawn Steel
To start with, I have one question for Mr. Garvey: Why do you continue to work for the Dodgers when they are promoting the hate Christian organization Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence? You are a Christian—this is a statement directly against you.
- The State legislature is about to pass legislation to give California hospitals $150 million, so they can stay open. Actually, they need billions for that. But at the same time they are going to spend money to keep hospitals open, the Democrats are passing legislation that will cost California hospitals $8 billion a year (not a typo) in added salary costs. Are they nuts—this guarantees numerous hospitals close. Who get to stay open—the Democrats will decide—that is called socialism. “
WAGE GAP: A bill to boost the minimum wage for California health care workers to $25 per hour next year is being amended to slow down the proposed bump, according to SEIU-UHW, the union behind the bill. The latest version of the bill would push the minimum wage to $21 per hour, starting in June of next year, and to $25 by June 2025. That will save some money for facilities, which opponents said would be on the hook for $8 billion per year under the old proposal. The change probably won’t be enough to get hospitals and clinics on board, but it could help the bill’s author, Maria Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) get the 21 votes she needs to pass the Senate ahead of next week’s deadline.”
- California is about to become totally lawless. DA’s that prefer criminals, no cash bail so criminals can immediately get back on the streets. The hate the cops rhetoric from Marxist Mayors like Bass and Breed. Sacramento wants to take away your guns as cops are fleeing the job—with few willing to replace them. Feel safe in California? Only is you have full time guards like the Hollywood Slicky.
Police agencies are desperate to hire. But they say few want the job — The San Francisco Police Department is down more than 600 officers, almost 30 percent of its allotment. Phoenix needs about 500 more officers to be fully staffed. Robert Klemko in the Washington Post$ — 5/28/23
- Just a snapshot in time for the 2024 election—thought you should know.
Poll: Trump takes big lead over DeSantis among California Republicans — Trump has the support of 44% of California’s likely Republican primary voters, while DeSantis was backed by 26%, according to the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll co-sponsored by The Times. - From the Gutfeld Show: Joe Biden attended the G-7 meeting in Japan. As he got there, he was reminded he was at the G-7—and his immediate response was, “BINGO”.
(Periodically the California Political News and Views will publish tidbits of political news, to keep you in the loop of what the pooh bahs know. The phrase “tom/tom’s” comes from my mentor, Lorelei Kinder who never passed a rumor, just called to tell me what she heard on the “TomTom’s”. This column is named in her honor.)
