HEARD ON THE TOM/TOMS

Heard on the Tom/Toms

On May 23, the Associate Representative program of the California Republican Party will have a first of its kind training and orientation session for CRP Associate Representative members and those interesting in learning how to campaign, how to grow the Party and how to be a better volunteer.

Under the leadership of Jon Paul White, the elected Associate Rep, serving on the CRP Executive Committee and can sit with the Board on the dais and in meetings, created this.  In speaking with him he explained to me that for decades the Associate Representatives, the only group of volunteers ORGANIZED by the CRP in the by laws, has been dormant.  Just a paper organization.  He has created newsletters, regular notices on how to volunteer—and where—for the Associates and implementing a Plan to grow the group.

I urge all my readers who can, to attend this meeting—be an effective volunteer.  It is Westminster at the RNC Community Center, starting at 12:30 on May 23.  See you there.  I will be the opening speaker and would enjoy meeting you.  See the flyer above for the details

CORRECTION:  For weeks I have accused Adam Schiff of spending $6 million promoting Steve Garvey as his hand picked GOP opponent, to save himself $40 million in a contested General Election against Katie Porter.  I was wrong.

Schiff spent $10 million.  See the story below.  Note the headline of the story.  Very accurate.

Garofoli: Steve Garvey’s ‘Seinfeld’-esque campaign strategy: Do nothing, and hope to succeed — Don’t expect Garvey’s strategy to change now that the Republican former Los Angeles Dodger star will face Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff in November. Except that now, the Schiff-friendly political action committee that boosted Garvey with $10 million of free advertising in the primary is going to shift gears and try to crush him. Joe Garofoli in the San Francisco Chronicle$ — 3/11/24

By midnight, March 5, 14 States had completed their ballot counts.  California?  This is from Whats Matters/CalMatters of March 11—one week AFTER election day:

“The latest official tally from the Secretary of State’s office shows that 4.8 million ballots have been counted from California’s primary, with 2.5 million still to go.
Based on the late Friday numbers, the total of nearly 7.3 million votes means a turnout of about 33%, well below the norm for presidential primaries, but not the record low that some analysts projected based on early numbers.” Yup, 2/5 million uncounted a week AFTER the election.  Gavin Newsom and Secretary of State Webber need to be embarrassed.  What are they waiting for—count the ballots TODAY. At 4:00pm, today, many of the counties will release an updated count of the vote.
