LAGOP Chair Tim O’Reilly:  We Can Limit Republican Attendance by Charging Entrance Fee and Having ANTI-TRUMP/PRO CHOICE SPEAKER

It looks like LAGOP chair Tim O’Reilly has found a way to keep Republicans from attending an LAGOP regular monthly meeting.  He and his fellow Executive Board member Keith Cascio have forced closed meetings, refused to give financial reports, tell how much and to who the LAGOP owes and how much they made or lost in four recent fund raisers.

So, now they are taking a Texas two-step.  First if you are not a member or alternate, to go to the April meeting you will have to pay $15.

Then if that does not work, have as the main speaker a candidate for office that is NOT a Republican—and an outspoken opponent of President Trump and a strong support of the Democrat Pro-Choice movement.  Los Angeles has lots of GOP candidates on the November ballot—instead O’Reilly wants to promote an NPP candidate.  In the Primary, Chair O’Reilly STOPPED the LAGOP from endorsing the only Republican running for District Attorney.  He, apparently was supporting Nathan Hochman, who left the GOP and denounced it.  Now Chair Tim wants to promote him, instead of Republican candidates.

From Politico, 7/6/22:

“Hochman, too, describes himself as having always been “pro-choice,” and said he would enforce California’s laws protecting abortion and reproductive rights.

Hochman said he supports State Constitutional Amendment 10, which would “prohibit the state from denying or interfering with an individual’s reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions, which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an abortion and their fundamental right to choose or refuse contraceptives.”

Republican attorney general candidate Nathan Hochman told Playbook on Tuesday that he didn’t vote for any presidential candidate in 2016 or 2020, but offered little reasoning as to why. He said he wasn’t prepared to vote for anyone based on the “totality of the circumstances,” so he left it blank.”

Good evening,

This is a reminder that the next LAGOP Meeting is taking place on Monday, April 29th at 7 pm at Hotel Dena, in Pasadena. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Nathan Hochman, candidate for LA District Attorney against George Gascon. This will be a night dedicated to meaningful conversation and insightful perspectives about the future of law and order in our city. Nathan’s impressive tenure as the U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the Tax Division and candidacy for CA Attorney General in 2022 underscore his dedication to the rule of law and civic responsibility.

An email with RSVP information and a flyer will be sent out on Thursday. This will be an open meeting, which means anyone is welcome to attend. All LAGOP Central Committee members get in for free, but guests will be charged $15 for the event. This is to make sure we can accommodate a large turnout, which is expected for the evening. There will be a cash bar available. Please let me or Matt know if you have any questions. Look forward to seeing you in 3 weeks.

Secretary, LA GOP

(hint:  this is NOT an event—it is a regular meeting of the LAGOP)

Chair Tim O’Reilly is an old fashioned MUGRUMP (mug on one side of the fence and his rump on the other)—he calls himself an Eisenhower Republican.  A few months ago he Chaired the California Republican Party Platform Committee.  The document he promoted took out GOP values and replaced them, by word and silence with Democrat values. Clearly he does not promote Republican values or principles, preferring Democrats and those who oppose Republican, like Hochman.
