LA County GOP Leaders Hoodwinked  County Republicans With Kamala Harris Supporting Nathan Hochman

This is my told you so moment.  I warned Tim O’Reilly LAGOP to stay away from Hochman.  Once before he lied by omission until it was too late to stop him.  In 2022 he ran for Attorney General as a Republican.  I warned folks then he is a liar.  A week AFTER the Primary that he won, he announced he would never support President Trump for anything and he was a radical in support of abortion at any time.  We should have learned our lesson then.

In 2023 he changes Parties and becomes an NPP.  But the GOP Establishment said we need to support him, he can raise money and win.  We had a registered Republican, Judge David Milton running, well qualified.  But LAGOP Chair was supporting Hochman and would not allow the LAGOP to endorse the Republican Milton.

On Thursday Hochman announced his endorsement of Kamala Harris—and his campaign will help her win votes.  Former GOP DA, Stephen Cooley, who endorsed Hochman, admitted he was hoodwinked and took away his endorsement.  Cooley did the honorable thing—will the others?

I would hope people like O’Reilly apologize to the Republican in LA County for supporting a known liar and someone who was not a Republican.  This needs to be a lesson for the future.  We have lost the chance to elect a Republican DA.

$180 BILLION Worth of Racist Hiring:  Per Democrats

Democrats are the historic racist Party in America.  They defended slavery.  They created Jim Crow laws, they segregated the military and suppressed the right to vote.  Now they want racist hiring practices by government—again.  This is not equity.  They want some people to pay all the bills, so others, qualified or not, can get the jobs and contracts.  This is how you end democracy in California.

  • Job equity: Sen. Lola Smallwood-Cuevas held a rally outside the state Capitol Tuesday to drum up support for Senate Bill 1340. The measure would help ensure equitable hiring practices when hiring for the state’s $180 billion in infrastructure projects over the next ten years. It would require state-funded contractors to prioritize workers from disadvantaged communities “so they have a front seat to getting access to these good jobs,” said the Los Angeles Democrat.

Journalism Preservation Act to make Big Tech pay for news survives key hearing — A bill to make Google and Facebook owner Meta pay publishers for news they present on their platforms survived its passage through a state legislative chamber where potential laws often go to die. Ethan Baron in the San Jose Mercury$ — 8/16/24
