REAL CALIFORNIA VOTER REGISTRATION—PER SECRETARY OF STATE

Some organizations are making fantastic claims of change in voter registration in California.  One blasted out, with a request for money, that the GOP added 160,000 NEW voters.  It did not mention how many the Democrats added or the loss of NPP voters.

Here are the official numbers from the Secretary of State website.  It compares the 60-day report from September, 2020 to the 60 day report from September, 2024.

You will note the actual difference in 2024 is plus 22,000 for the GOP, NOT 160,000.  Also note the LOSS of NPP voters, 148,000.  And the loss of eligible registered voters by almost 2%.

Report Date Democratic Republican No Party Preference Other

Sept 6, 2024 10,279,189 46.07%  Democrat  –Sept 4, 2020 9,859,577 46.42%

Sept, 2024 GOP 5,534,782 24.81%    Sept. 2020 GOP 4,890,230 21.92% ,

Sept 2020 NPP  5,038,380   Sept 2024 NPP  4,890,230  A LOSS OF 148,000

Very Important.  Notice the number of eligible voters registered has gone DOWN by almost 2%

Since the last 60-Day Report of Registration for a General in a Presidential election year (September 4, 2020):

The total voter registration in the state increased from 21,240,236 to 22,310,352.

The percentage of eligible Californians who are registered to vote decreased from 84.68% to 82.92%.

The percentage of voters who have no party preference decreased from 23.72% to 21.92%.

The percentage of voters registered with a qualified political party increased from 75.20% to 76.91%.  The percentage of voters registered with the Democratic Party decreased from 46.42% to 46.07%.

The percentage of voters registered with the Republican Party increased from 24.16% to 24.81%.
