CORRECTION

In yesterdays CPRNV I reported that Vice Chair Corrin Rankin voted against endorsing Donald Trump for President at the April, 2024 convention.  In fact, it was at the September, 2023 convention. (she voted against amending the agenda to include an endorsement)

Not in dispute was her opposition to the California Republican Party endorsing Trump.  Do not listen to her words, look at her (in)actions.  She could have made a motion at the Board of Directors to endorse Trump.  She could have asked to have the endorsement on the agenda for the April, 2024 convention.  Corrin Rankin could have motioned to amend the April, 2024 agenda to include a vote on endorsement—but she didn’t.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY GOP

On Saturday they held an organizing meeting.  It took them from 9:00am to 11:33 to sign in 140 people.  They only had the facility till 2:30. Candidates for Chairs were allowed to have speeches—all the other candidates were not allowed speeches, because time ran out.

In fact, they had to vacate the Elks Lodge at 2:30, and the new Chair had votes counted in the parking lot.  Several races still had 2-3 candidates—and they might hold those elections next week or next month.  Of course, LAGOP normally does not get a quorum at regular meetings.

While LAGOP Chair Tim O’Reilly got his person elected chair—who supported his actions==the Committee, after debts are paid has no money.

The good news is that after the LAGOP is no shape to run candidates or even hold meetings, he is leaving.  Apparently, he has told folks he is moving to Tennessee.  Anybody want to throw a goodbye party?

Looks like the Sacramento Democrats have decided to make homeowner insurance more expensive and to stop developers from building in California.  Though Newsom and his Democrats refuse to provide water or manage the forests, he wants insurance companies to be able to sue developers for the Newsom scam called climate change.  Oh, he wants oil companies sued for providing gasoline!!  What do you think that will do to the cost of a gallon of gas?

California bill would let insurers, policyholders sue Big Oil for climate disasters — State Sen. Scott Wiener has introduced a bill that would create a pathway for Californians affected by fires, floods and other climate disasters to sue fossil fuel companies for damages. Imagine what four more years of Trump judicial appointments will bring us.

Trump shifted the 9th Circuit to the right. What that means for abortion and reproductive care — President “Trump had a particularly significant impact on the 9th Circuit” in his first term, moving the reliably liberal appeals court to the right.
