Illegal aliens and their friends committed economic suicide in Bakersfield. A few bars and restaurants, along with small grocery stores closed on Monday to protest Trump enforcing our immigration laws. So, these businesses lost revenues, workers did not get paid and consumers went to other bars for a beer or a burgher. This was economic suicide.
Tuesday the places re-opened, ICE continued to arrest and deport criminals, while these small businesses harmed their economic survival.
““In solidarity with our Latino/Hispanic community all our El Puesto locations will be closed Monday Feb. 3 in efforts to bring attention against the devastating immigration policies affecting our communities,” El Puesto Cocina Lounge said in an Instagram post Sunday. “Together we can make a difference.”
Added to this, they wanted students, already well behind in their education, to stay home. So, they committed economic suicide and decided to keep their kids dumb. I call this parent abuse.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Several restaurants and businesses in the Kern County area are closed Monday for a “Day Without Immigrants,” a nationwide initiative designed to show the importance of immigrants’ contributions to their communities.
The movement encourages immigrants to stay home from work and school and refrain from shopping amid a crackdown on immigration from the Trump Administration.
Some of the establishments participating include Con Azucar Café, El Puesto Cocina Lounge, and Mercado Latino.
