This is what you call a media coordinated attack on President Trump. When you have the L.A. Times and the San Fran Chronicle do the SAME story, on the same day, it is NOT a coincidence.
In this story they are defending the use of illegal aliens. Both radical propaganda papers are claiming that without illegal aliens we will not have wine, lettuce or tomatoes. In fact, they claim the agriculture industry will collapse. No mention of the Governor taking needed water from agriculture as the real cause of the decline and collapse of this industry.
At a time when they see Trump winning, they need to defend illegal aliens against the coming enforcement of Federal law. To me this is a cry for the return of the BRACERO program, which was used for years to legally bring Mexicans into the U.S. for a short, specific time. That should be our discussion—not the supporting the violation of law.
A Trump promise could be ‘catastrophic’ to California’s wine industry — While some experts believe implementing such a plan is unrealistic, there’s widespread consensus that mass deportation would be devastating to California’s wine, food and hospitality industries. Why so few employers are using a U.S. program to screen out undocumented workers — The program’s low use reflects the reality that many businesses — and the broader economy — have come to rely on undocumented immigrants. Don Lee in the Los Angeles Times$ — 10/23/24
