New bill could mean big pay raise for California teachers

Shh!!  This is a secret.  A Democrat bill, when passed will create teacher salary increases for ELEVEN years.  Vote for it now and you will not have to vote again, using State tax money, to raise the salary of California teachers for over a decade!  That is how union/Democrat corruption works—in the dark.  Now you know why the unions own the Democrat Party—watch the Democrat candidates get massive donations, from Republican teachers, to continue the corruption.

Assembly Bill 477 would increase statewide school funding incrementally through 2036-37. The additional funding would allow school districts to increase staff pay.”

Of course th increased salary also means the union get increased bribes, ur, dues.  The students, parents and community lose—the unions and the Democrats win.

A bill that would increase California teacher and classified school employee salaries by 50% over the next decade passed the Assembly Education Committee unanimously Thursday.

Assembly Bill 477 would increase statewide school funding incrementally through 2036-37. The additional funding would allow school districts to increase staff pay.

Teachers earn 23.5% less than other college graduates with comparable degrees, which keeps many graduates from entering the teaching profession, according to a legislative analysis of the bill.

“California is the world’s fifth largest economy,” said Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi, author of the bill. “We need to invest in our students and our educators to support student success and grow a globally competitive workforce. Our teachers and essential school staff have been underpaid for far too long. It’s time for California to start paying its educators a fair wage.”

The bill has been referred to the Committee on Appropriations for consideration.

  1. Teachers today can pass for little more than glorified indoctrinators- at least if they are teaching “political” classes.

  2. Overlooking the obvious vitriol against our state’s public school teachers, perhaps some conclusions culled from extensive research might be in order:
‘ Over the last four and a half decades the inflation-adjusted average weekly wage of teachers in California increased by 26.3%, while those of nonteacher college graduates increased by 70.0%. The average teacher weekly wage has been flat since 2003 as the cost of living in California has increased significantly.
The relative (i.e., regression-adjusted) wage of teachers compared to other college graduates has worsened over time from -7.2% to -23.8% from 1981 to 2022. In other words, teachers in California earned 76.2 cents for every dollar earned by similar nonteaching professionals in 2023, much less than the 92.8 cents in 1981.’

The feds are doing away with the marxist, anti-family, and anti-children agendas being waged against our public schools and the communities which they serve.
The abysmal decline in public school teachers’ wages and benefits were the result of decades (no exaggeration) of democrat-led policies. At least 1/5 of the California Legislature’s pending bills have the effect of doing an end-run around California’s Proposition 98 funding formulas (the cut funding for California’s public schools and community colleges).
Seems as if the democrats aren’t as holden to the CTA boogie man, as so many of California’s, ‘conservatives’ would have us believing.
