San Diego has an average of $200,000 income, in order to buy a home. Now because of the mismanagement and incompetence of the leaders of the city of San Diego, they have a $176 million deficit. Instead of massive cuts, they want massive tax increases. But, no matter how high the taxes, the deficit will massively grow. Even if they become fiscally responsible, that will no longer help.

SAN DIEGO — The City of San
Diego is asking San Diego taxpayers to pay more sales tax in hopes of filling what is a projected $176 million budget gap.
Sales tax proposal on November ballot
District 7 Councilmember Raul Campillo says the city is proposing a ballot measure for this November’s ballot to raise the sales tax rate from its current level of 7.75%.
If passed, the added revenue will go to shrinking mounting city deficits that are expected to climb for the next several years.
Campillo visited CBS 8 Studios to talk about the need for a bump in sales tax revenues.
“What we are asking voters is in November to vote to increase that by one cent per dollar so that we can have two cents come to our general fund so that we can spend it on the aging infrastructure,” Campillo said.
In recent years cities such as Chula Vista, Del Mar, Imperial Beach, National City and Solana Beach have raised their sales tax rates to 8.75% while La Mesa, El Cajon, Oceanside and Vista pay 8.5% to 8.25% respectively.
