Steve Garvey:  Dodges Trump/Media—Will Vote for Abortions

  • I hate to quote the radical Katie Porter, but she did get this right.  Garvey was asked if he supported Trump for President and would not commit to supporting the GOP nominee.  Porter said, per CalMatters, “Porter: “Once a Dodger, always a dodger…. This is not the minor leagues. Who will you vote for?”

California Playbook, Politico reported this incident like this, “Garvey repeatedly refused to answer, saying he would decide before Election Day. “At that time, I will make my choice.”

Porter retorted with a zinger: “What they say is true: Once a Dodger, always a Dodger,” she said as the audience howled. “This is not the minor leagues. Who will you vote for?”

The San Francisco Standard (https://sfstandard.com/2024/01/22/california-senate-debate-garvey-schiff/?utm_campaign=SF%20Standard%20Daily&utm_medium=email&utm_source=SF%20Standard&utm_content=latest-news-list)

wrote this, “While others remained in the spin room for media interviews, Garvey got into his car, ignoring reporters’ questions. His spokesperson, Matt Shupe, did not return a message for comment.”

Garvey still hasn’t decided whether to support Joe Biden or Donald Trump?

Two of the key issues in a Republican race are gun control and abortion.  HE MADE IT CLEAR HE WOULD SUPPORT ABORTION, BUT HASN’T DECIDED HOW HE WOULD VOTE ON GUN CONTROL.  On abortion he sounds like Democrat “Catholics” like Biden, Newsom and Pelosi.

From the Los Angeles Times (https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2024-01-23/california-senate-debate-garvey-lee-porter-schiff-performance):

He also stumbled when asked about the abortion issue. Although Garvey personally opposes the procedure, he said he would support reproductive rights as a U.S. senator. “The people of California have spoken and I pledge to support that voice,” he said.

The debate co-moderator, Politico’s Melanie Mason, then followed up by asking whether Garvey would similarly abide by the will of most Californians who strongly support stricter gun laws and oppose Trump’s return to office.

More word salad.

“Well I have my opinions, obviously,” Garvey said. “And with common sense and compassion and ability of consensus. You know, I look at all the issue. I think I’m fair.”

This is like when I spoke to him a couple of months ago, asking about his forgery of a $110,000 check—he had no answer and referred me to Matt Shupe, his PR guy, who has refused to return my calls or emails.  They are refusing to answer questions.  How bad is that?  We now know Steve Garvey knows how to run.

As you all know, after a debate, the candidates and their Team meet with the press and explain how they won the debate.  What did Steve do?

From Politico, “We didn’t get a chance to ask Garvey what he thought of his performance, because he didn’t show up to the spin room after the debate — nor did any of his campaign staff.”

Garvey had good reason NOT to speak to the media.  The Garvey campaign had been told prior to the debate that some reporters had documents showing how he got out of the draft after being sent to Ft. Jackson, copies of his forgery of a $110,000 check—and proof he refuses to meet two of his children, now in their thirties and hasn’t seen his grandchildren nor spoken to his daughters in about fifteen years.  One reporter has a copy of the phony annulment from his first wife and was ready to ask how much he paid for that.

I should note that the California Political News and Views has been writing about this for months, his lack of ethics, morals and his treatment of the women in his life.  So far, not a single request for a retraction, an explanation.  By the Garvey silence, he is admitting to all this, the way he treats our nation, our veterans, women and the law.  Is this what the California GOP has turned into?

At some point, Garvey will have to answer for his actions—and every GOP candidate will be forced to denounce him—thus hurting the California GOP ticket in November and the credibility of our Party.

In the past week articles in Politico, the Times and the conservative California Globe have stated Garvey is not a serious candidate.  This debate proved it.

  1. Steve Garvey is running for office. He cannot state a position that is contrary to what 70% of the voting population in California support. He may not be a brilliant politician, but he is not a stupid man.

  2. The best thing Republicans can do in the primary is make sure the top two in the general election are Adam Schiff and Katie Porter … two DEMOCRATS. Schiff and Porter would then spend the entire campaign wasting a lot of money and a lot of mudslinging at each other. That’s money that could be spent by Democrats elsewhere in California …

Democrats are hoping it’s Schiff vs Garvey. They know Schiff will win in November and it would avoid having two Democrats (Schiff and Porter) going after each other.

Sadly, that’s the reality because this is “Communist” California.
