One by one, little by little, newspapers are going the way of the buggy whips.
“— The Bakersfield Californian announced Thursday that it will transition to a five-day per week newspaper in print and online beginning October 1.
The announcement comes after there were no deliveries of the Californian Wednesday anywhere in Kern. The TBC didn’t publish a paper at all on Sept. 4, leaving print subscribers in the dark.
According to the Californian, the change is happening due to the newspaper’s distributor no longer providing home delivery. The paper will now be delivered by mail Tuesday through Saturday instead. There will be no paper on Sunday and Monday.”
In LA the Times Sunday edition is as thin as toilet paper. Most California papers are at least half the size they were a decade ago.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Californian announced Thursday that it will transition to a five-day per week newspaper in print and online beginning October 1.
There will be no paper on Sunday and Monday.
Saturday’s paper will now become “a weekend edition” that will include an extended opinion, section, extra comments, and travel pages among other features.
“We are thankful for the support of our loyal readers and advertisers during this transition,” Publisher Cliff Chandler said.
Newspapers are a thing of the past. The printed paper is too expensive and it is online for less cost. With advertising revenue all but gone, and the tech industry providing the news or their version of the news it is time to say goodbye!
