Trump’s civil rights head embodies virtues she seeks to dismantle

The Democrats have a real problem.  The new head of the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ believes in the Rule Law, the Constitution and opposes all forms of racism and bigotry.

“So, it is confusing to some, and disappointing to others, to see Dhillon’s zeal for using her post at the Justice Department as a weapon to carry out President Donald Trump’s mandate to destroy diversity, equity and inclusion programs.

Since Dhillon was sworn in April 7, the Department of Justice has:

• Sued Maine’s education department over its refusal to bar transgender girls to play in girls sports

• Issued a memo within the department’s Civil Rights Division, according to The New York Times, directing attorneys to pursue cases based on Trump’s executive orders, including three centering on transgender women participating in sports

• Celebrated Illinois’ suspension of a scholarship program for minority students pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees following threats of a federal lawsuit

• Filed a statement of interest in a lawsuit against Southwest Airlines alleging that a travel voucher program for low-income Hispanic college students amounts to racial discrimination by excluding those who aren’t Hispanic.”

Racism, black or white, is wrong.

To the Left opposing racism is wrong and makes you evil.  Kooks like Harmeet Dhillon, of San Fran, is going to work on on the Trump and Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., agenda.

Few people embody the magnificence of American diversity better than Harmeet Dhillon, the San Francisco attorney sworn in this month as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice.

Born to a Sikh family in Northern India, Dhillon moved to the U.S. as a toddler, spending her childhood in Smithfield, North Carolina where her father pursued a career in orthopedic surgery.

During her February confirmation hearing, she recalled her parents’ confusion over the Ku Klux Klan sign that hung from the freeway welcoming visitors to their new home, and the stares she received while attending North Carolina’s prestigious School of Science and Mathematics.

“I was bullied as a child for my long braids, my funny name, my unusual faith, and it wasn’t the easiest thing to be a family of turban-wearing Sikhs in the rural south in the 1970s,” Dhillon told the Senate Judiciary Committee in February.

Dhillon excelled academically, earning a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia, where she was a member of the Law Review.

Yet not all Americans welcome diverse cultures. Even after settling in San Francisco for her professional life, she said in the February hearing that her brother heard shouts of “Osama” and “go back to (your) country” at Candlestick Park in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

So, it is confusing to some, and disappointing to others, to see Dhillon’s zeal for using her post at the Justice Department as a weapon to carry out President Donald Trump’s mandate to destroy diversity, equity and inclusion programs.

• Dropped a lawsuit against the Mississippi State Senate alleging that it paid a Black attorney around half as much as her white colleagues
