While driving around the State I listen to Fox News and music of the 50’s and 60’s. Bob Dylan is my favorite poet/singer. In one song he says, “if you got nothing, you got nothing to lose”. When you listen the words of Dylan you understand the psychology and depression of today. Rich Eber points out a song by Quicksilver Messenger Service which is Dylanesque.

While taking an introductory geology course at UCSB, the professor beat into our brains “The key to the present can always be found in the past.” As it turned out this theorem proved helpful in other fields of study as well.
These sage words came into perspective years after attending a concert at San Francisco’s Avalon Ballroom in 1970. It’s headliner was rock icon Jimmy Hendrix. I had no idea over 50 years later, this event would figure prominently in the Presidential election of 2024.
No, it wasn’t Jimmy’s electrifying guitar expertise which still resonates today. Instead, Hendrix’s opening act The Quicksilver Messenger Service left a lasting impression.

This symbolizes the disconnect polarization with young people in this year’s Presidential race. There are millions of alienated youths who don’t care very much for either major political party.
Such a situation could not be found in the election of 1968. Back then we had Robert Kennedy as the voice of change. Today, his “not ready for prime time” son is unsuccessfully trying to carry on his Dad’s legacy.
Neither political Party today can answer Valenti’s cry

How can this alienated segment of society be brought back to the fold with no meaningful direction coming from social media or cable TV networks?
Instead, voters of both liberal and conservative persuasions find themselves wading against the currents of name calling, phony court cases, and topics that have little to do with the future well-being of our country.
The electorate is begging without success for the presumptive candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump to tell them how a better life can be created for their families.
The answer isn’t allowing some 10 million illegal aliens to pass thru our borders during the Biden Administration.
It isn’t Tyson Foods shutting down a pork processing plant in Perry Iowa while replacing workers with less expensive migrant labor.
It isn’t higher petroleum prices to fuel autos and homes brought about by the United States reducing exploration for fossil fuels.
It isn’t the inflated attention on the incident in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2020 for which only one side of the story was told by the biased Democratic select Committee.
It isn’t that continuous attention given to abortion laws being more important than the sinking fortunes of a shrinking middle class.
It isn’t the billions spent each year on defense expenditures that show little tangible results. Whether we like it or not, the United States is facing a classic guns or butter dilemma that has plagued our country since its inception.
It isn’t Donald Trump’s divisive remarks made to opponents and those who care to disagree with him.
This is why I am so concerned our form of government js being placed on the chopping block this year. Will our society be able to survive the onslaught of woke cancel-culture and political parties controlled by extremist ideologies?
It scares me a substantial part of the population believes our Constitutional democracy along with its Bill of Rights foundation are outdated.
With this dismal assessment, might we have to suspend the truths of Geology and the sciences, to embrace a Socialist system of government?
Can we ever forget to emulate Jimmy Hendrix’s immortal words, “Excuse me while I kiss the sky?”
So we must ask:

Tax the Rich
Feed the Poor
Until there are no
Rich no more
This is the democrat grand plan. Everyone is poor and under the control of the socialist democrat party.
WE CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.
Wow. Reality 101. But maybe The Revolution WILL be Televised when we all stop asking our so-called leaders how a better life can be created for our families and we start doing that ourselves.
